Vortic partnered with Untitled Art Miami Beach 2023
Vortic collaborated with Untitled Art Miami Beach as the art fair’s official digital partner for the 2023 edition. The curatorial focus was “Curating in the Digital Age” – adapting curatorial practices in response to rapid technological advances. The partnership focused on exploring the future of hybrid art fairs and expanding accessibility for artists and audiences.
Clara Andrade, Untitled’s Director of Development and Curatorial Affairs, highlighted the “shared commitment (of Vortic and Untitled) to create in a more sustainable and accessible way to create exhibitions and engage audiences globally.”
Vortic sponsored the first “Curating in the Digital Age” prize for a series of awards valued at $40,000. Over 50 galleries participated and curated a digital extension of their booth on Vortic. All of the galleries’ exhibitions are available to explore on Vortic until the 26th of January.
Each of the participants’ exhibitions showed an understanding of the digital space, the use of curatorial tools (lighting, framing, positioning, audio and video) and the relationship between the physical and digital spaces.
Participating galleries spoke about the possibilities unlocked by Vortic’s platform. Curro Borrego, founder of Galería CURRO, said, “We just scratched the surface of it, and we will for sure come up with new ideas through these tools to make the art viewing experience richer.”
Fridman Gallery’s director, Maty Sall noted that Vortic helped solve logistical problems, “Vortic really helped us to extend our vision in a very incredible way.”
In Conversation with Oliver Miro and Adam Green
Vortic’s Founder, Oliver Miro, also participated in a panel discussion with Adam Green, host of the ArtTactic podcast, Untitled Art Ambassador and Art Advisor. They discussed Vortic’s platform, exploring trends in art consumption and the future of art fairs.
Vortic “is an art pioneering tool. It’s built to represent our artists in the best way possible” and “a collaborative platform, not only for galleries, but for museums, for artists, for collectors, and it’s really for everyone to use.”
